The Irving Moskowitz & Cherna Moskowitz Prize For Zionism Israel is in a tough neighborhood – thankfully many work tirelessly to ensure the country remains safe. A recent prize, The Moskowitz Prize for Zionism was established by Dr. Irving Moskowitz and Cherna Moskowitz as an expression of support for people who put Zionism into action in today’s Israeli society.

This year’s winners were heroic Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, Director of the Israel Law Center, Yitzchak Glick, Chairman of the Emergency Medical Center in Efrat, and Tzvika Slonim, founder of the Ariel University Center.

Darshan Leitner was named by Globes, Israel’s leading business newspaper, as one of the Jewish state’s 50 Most Influential Women and said “Being awarded the prize inspires all of us to be ever vigilant, innovative and even more deeply committed to using legal activism to ensure Israel’s safety and survival.” Prize winners a $100,000 cash prize, divided amongst this year’s winners.

“The prize was established in recognition of the people who put Zionism into action in Israel today– at times risking their own personal security, placing the collective before personal needs and doing what it takes to ensure a strong, secure Jewish homeland,” said Cherna Moskowitz.

A great quote from many years ago emanates from the great Ze’ev Jabotinsky:  “To me “Jew” represents an honorable title, not an accident of birth.”
