Jews: Heed The Words of Ze’ev Jabotinsky Silence Is Despicable

Jews: Heed The Words of Ze’ev Jabotinsky Silence Is DespicableSome random Jewish musings:

Just received the first English translation of Likutey Moharan – The Collected Teachings of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov and am so excited to read it.  Rabbi Nachman is someone who I have read extensively – and offers such real emotion to Judaism. I happened upon them by accident some years ago in Israel (When I stopped to speak to the religious rave dancers we have all seen in the streets in Israel), and one interested me enough to go the next day and buy a book. I did, and subsequently travelled to Uman in what was a spiritual eye-opener.

For me, some of what I enjoy is the seemingly emotional opening of the soul that Nachman offers: “

There’s nothing very mysterious about free will. You do what you want to do, and you don’t do what you don’t want to do.

If you believe breaking is possible, believe fixing is possible.

Today you feel uplifted. Do not let yesterday and tomorrow to bring you down.

Always remember: happiness is not a side matter in your spiritual journey – it is essential.

It is a great mitzvah to always be happy.

The very spiritual book “Gan Emunah” by a prominent Rabbi who is a follower of Nachman is one I have as regular gift items, and a must-read for anyone who wants to understand their soul (and Judaism and life) better – very excited to start to read and study the Nachman book in English.

Simply sickening and beyond ridiculous that The Global Peace Index ranked Israel as one of the least peaceful countries in the world in an annual study released this week, lower than Iran, Egypt or Syria. The index, known as the GPI, ranked 158 countries and listed Israel at 150. Only one other Middle Eastern country, Iraq — number 155 — ranked lower. As the Foreign Ministry said:  “How is it possible that that Israel is a more dangerous place than Syria? Perhaps in some parallel universe, but not in any empirical reality in which real people live.”

The report is Anti-Semitic and no amount of public relations or spin could even pretend to make it appear any different – a gross distortion of reality.

I believe in the future Jewish American patriots like Sheldon Adelson and Dr. Irving Moskowitz will have streets named after them for their commitments to the Jewish people.  They both have given millions to efforts devoted to defeating President Obama with the simple initiative of helping the Jewish people thrive.

In these rare and unique times, it is imperative on all Jews to stand up and act – As Ze’ev Jabotinsky the great Zionist leader said:  “Silence is despicable, it leads to a loss of flesh and blood.”

Your commitment to dishonesty and racism are exemplary, but the fact is, Jewish youth today are more and more turning away from such idiocy. Zionism is not a religion, it is a nationalist movement. Many of us younger Jews are not interested in it and see it for what it is. Go ahead and call everything you don’t like anti-semitic and waste your money and time helping a right-winger get elected. While our ancestors who fought for justice and equality roll in their graves.

He used that magic phrase where all gentiles should shake with fear; anti-something rather. Woe is me.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky was so clear and so right.
