Deputy Speaker of Israeli Knesset Calls For Firing of CEO of Center For Jewish History

Member of Knesset Bezalel Smotrich who serves as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset; a member of the Finance Committee, the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee, and the State Control Committee; and an alternate member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee issued a statement on Friday calling for David N. Myers the new CEO of the Center for Jewish History to be fired.

noted that “those involved in leadership positions with organizations that are no friends of Israel should be precluded from positions with Jewish organizations.”  Mr. Myers is an active leader of New Israel Fund, J Street, If Not Now When and Jewish voices For Peace.


Bezalel Smotrich was born in 1980 (5740,) in Haspin and spent most of his childhood in Beit El. He attended the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva and the Yeshiva in Kedumim. Smotrich completed his military service as assistant to head of the Central Theater in the General Staff Operations Division. Smotrich holds an LLB and is a licensed attorney. He also studied public and international law for an LLM at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.


Smotrich is chairs the Lobby for Strengthening and Development of the Galilee, the Lobby for Strengthening Governability, the Lobby for Encouraging Mission Oriented Communities, the Lobby for Applying Sovereignty to Judea and Samaria, the Lobby for Eretz Israel, the Lobby for Encouraging Population Growth in the Jewish Nation, and the Lobby for Encouraging Task-Oriented Communities and Groups.
