30 Rising FIDF Leaders From the US Visit Israel with IDF Soldiers

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) National Rising Leaders Mission to Israel
30fidfNEW YORK, July 10 – More than 30 young leaders and supporters of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) from all walks of life, representing communities from across the U.S., joined the FIDF National Rising Leaders Mission to Israel, June 29-July 5, to show their appreciation for Israel’s brave soldiers and celebrate 70 years of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The mission brought members of FIDF’s Young Leadership (YL) Division together with the soldiers of the IDF. Mission participants received in-depth briefings by military officers, toured strategic IDF bases to get a behind-the-scenes look into the Israeli military, and experienced Israel – from the Sea of Galilee to the beaches of Tel Aviv – in a whole new way. The group of FIDF leaders rode horseback across the Golan Heights and Jordan Valley, experienced Bedouin hospitality firsthand, heard from the men and women who operate the Iron Dome air defense missile batteries that keep Israel safe from incoming rocket fire, met the combat soldiers who stand watch over Israel’s borders, and visited many of Israel’s historic sites.
Mission members also helped deliver ice cream to Iron Dome soldiers, with an ice cream truck donated by FIDF, and volunteered with combat veterans who received FIDF IMPACT! Scholarships at a food distribution warehouse for the Israeli non-profit organization Latet.
Joining the FIDF mission were FIDF National YL Director Bari Lovi, FIDF Tri-State YL Development Associate Cara Chernin, and FIDF Los Angeles Chapter Director of Operations and Special Events Lauren Faber.
“This Rising Leaders Mission brought our young FIDF supporters together with the brave IDF soldiers who risk it all to protect Israel and Jews everywhere,” said Lovi. “It was an incredible opportunity for them to see Israel in a way most can’t experience – and to create bonds with soldiers whose well-being they support through FIDF.”
